For Machined component Division-II, We classified the Spares & other components into 3 categories. They are A Item, B Item, and C Item.
We found that there are several Items which are seen to be of high Rupee consumption volume usually include 10-20% of all inventory items, and account for 50-60% of the total Rupee consumption volume. We categorized them under” A item Category”.
We found that there are Several Items which are those that are 30-40% of all inventory items, and account for 30-40% of the total Rupee consumption volume of the inventory. These are important, but not critical, and don't pose sourcing difficulties. We categorized them under “B Item Category.”
We found that there are Several Items which are those items account for 40-50% of all inventory items, but only 5-10% of the total Rupee consumption volume. Characteristically these are standard, low cost & readily available Items. We categorized them under “C Item Category.”
This helps them to manage their resources (Man, Money, Material, and Space) wisely.
